Throughout WEX-BIO, three films from the World Water Film Festival will offer different perspectives on the challenges and opportunities shaping our relationship with the natural world.
The United Arab Emirates, co-hosting the 2026 UN Water Conference alongside Senegal, has positioned itself as a leader in sustainability, innovation, and cross-cultural dialogue. Our goal is to bring together audiences who do not always share the same room, from government officials and international delegates to students and the general public. WWFF hopes to add a cultural dimension to the conversations already underway, connecting global audiences to the human stories behind the policy.
What can Indigenous knowledge teach us about building water-resilient cities? Join internationally recognized designer and author Julia Watson and WWFF Founder Robert Strand for a conversation exploring nature-based solutions, traditional ecological wisdom and the role of storytelling in shaping urban resilience. Featuring a segment from Brave Blue World on Sponge Cities, the session examines how cities can work with nature to manage water, reduce flooding and build a more resilient future.

Day 4: On Water & Climate Change - A final showcase addressing severe drought, extreme flooding, rising sea levels, and the adaptive policies needed for our future.
Join us Thursday, September 24, from 5–8 p.m. during Climate Week NYC for Water Stories, a new collaboration between the World Water Film Festival, Lo-TEK Institute, and Brave Blue World Foundation exploring how film, design, and ecological knowledge can inspire new ways of thinking about water.

The World Water Film Festival is pleased to announce that our first full-fledged film festival event in Europe will be held at IHE Delft Institute for Water Education, a four-day film festival.
Day 1: On Water & War/Conflict - Exploring the critical intersections of resource scarcity, geopolitical boundaries, and the human cost of transboundary water disputes.
