WEX-BIO Lisbon : Stories That Make Us Think

What can film help us see differently about water, food and the resources we depend on?

Throughout WEX-BIO, three films from the World Water Film Festival will offer different perspectives on the challenges and opportunities shaping our relationship with the natural world.

  • Water by Mia Allen
An atmospheric, dreamlike film exploring water across everyday life, urban environments and living systems, creating space to pause and reflect on its presence all around us.

  • If Not for Farming by Samuel Stacey
In Kenya, farmers, scientists and private sector partners are working together to restore soil health, build resilience and strengthen food security through regenerative agriculture.

  • Sludge by Jeffrey Christian
A powerful look at farmers speaking out about the impact of PFAS, or “forever chemicals”, on their land, water and livestock. And the questions this raises about accountability and protecting future generations.

Join us at WEX-BIO in Lisbon from 2–4 November 2026.
